Implementation

The Cadis Professional Services Team understands the importance of delivery and fitness for purpose. One of the most attractive features of Cadis is the ability to implement quickly: bringing business benefits and a ROI within weeks and not years. We are able to do this by maximising the amount of configuration that can be done concurrently. This is in part due to our rapid development approach, and also due to the fact that Cadis is a series of interconnecting components. The other reason for this is that we actively work towards enabling clients to become self-sufficient with Cadis configuration as quickly as possible. This approach is backed up with focused design sessions to understand crucial areas of the implementation, an embedding of Best Practices with regards to Cadis configuration and a design council at each site to ensure that proposals receive multi-disciplinary approval. This approach, bringing IT and business users of the data together in design and implementation, is crucial in ensuring that what is built is robust, supportable, scaleable and fit for purpose...

Support

Once an implementation has gone live, responsibility for maintaining the build rests between the client’s own support apparatus and Cadis Support. This partnership is helped by a transition period where Cadis Support will share common support type scenarios and encourage a logical step-through of likely resolutions. However any issues that require escalating to Support can be done so either directly by phone, or more commonly by logging the item directly on our web tool, Cadis Direct. Cadis Direct allows clients to log and then monitor progress with regards to their issues. Critical issues are handled by a tried and tested escalation procedure to ensure that these exceedingly rare incidents are resolved expediently.

Training

Training on Cadis is continually evolving to ensure that clients get exposure to all the new features within Cadis. This has been updated to show-case many of the new features within V7. The course is offered usually over three days and is designed to ensure maximum hands-on experience in a real-world type scenario. This course ensures that every participant gets exposure to every component within the EDM suite but in a manner that allows them to pace themselves and return to items that may require a second look. The best courses usually involve attendees from many disciplines (IT Dev, BA, User, DBA) who can then appreciate the full lifecycle of data and how it is important to understand the outcomes when configuring Cadis. The training is designed to put people at ease and quickly bring about confidence in tackling real world configuration and helping attendees to quickly start adding to the project at hand.

A focused two-day training course purely on the Matcher is now available. This course is aimed at allowing individuals to understand what the Matcher is designed for, how it achieves its function and the likely ongoing scenarios a Data Management function is likely to encounter. Attendees are expected to have previously participated in the general introduction course.

Packages

Version 5 of Cadis saw the introduction of Packages. The initial driver for this was to speed up the migration of components between environments in a safe and secure manner. This has been achieved. However, since Packaging allows multiple components, stored procedures and table definitions to be grouped together and then exported and imported it has become possible to create a series of pre-configured plug-ins that primarily are aimed at reducing duplication of effort and speeding up implementations even further. As we have experience of up to 80 different source and destination systems, we have been able to create a suite of these, along with a robust exceptions process, that are available to clients when and if they require. Once imported, these packages can then be tweaked to meet the particular needs of a client.

Design

Cadis implementations tend to be focused on concrete goals based around high value-add issues. Success in these often equates to other uses for the product becoming relevant, perhaps within a different division or for easing problems in an alternative entity - going from a master Security to help in creating a master Price for example. Clients who are live already often prefer to consult with the Professional Services team to either actively engage in the design of a new solution or to have us sense-check theirs - perhaps in light of new features, our experience across the industry or to ensure time estimates are reasonable but challenging. Our sense of partnership begins with implementation, proceeds through our support and continues with design consultations.
